11:59 AM EDT, 06/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates to include more details on the investigation from the article and Boeing's ( BA ) comment.)

Boeing ( BA ) is probing a new quality issue with its 787 Dreamliner after finding hundreds of fasteners incorrectly installed on the fuselages of some of the undelivered jets, Reuters reported Thursday, citing two people familiar with the matter.

Reuters said the manufacturing issue was discovered at Boeing's ( BA ) South Carolina plant and according to the sources, the company is looking into the cause of the issue and will complete the investigation before deciding on remedial measures.

The company said the probe has limited to no impact on aircraft deliveries, Reuters added.

Boeing ( BA ) confirmed the investigation to MT Newswires and a spokesperson said the in-service 787 Dreamliners "can continue to safely operate."
