Dec 6, 2024 2:49 AM

05:40 AM EST, 12/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with response from Citigroup ( C ) in the fifth paragraph.)

Citigroup ( C ) has begun employing new artificial intelligence tools for about 140,000 employees in eight countries to "simplify work and increase productivity", Reuters reported Wednesday citing senior executives.

Citi Assist searches internal bank policies and procedures while another tool, Citi Stylus, is able to summarize, compare, or search multiple documents at the same time, according to the report.

Both tools will be accessible to workers in the US, Canada, Hungary, India, Ireland, Poland, Singapore, and the UK from this month, and will slowly be expanded to other markets, Reuters said.

Tim Ryan, the head of technology and business enablement, told Reuters in an interview that Citi will analyze how employees are interacting with the tools to develop new uses.

Citigroup ( C ) declined additional comment in response to an inquiry by MT Newswires.
