CVC Capital Partners is in early talks to acquire KKR's (KKR) majority stake in Mumbai-based Avendus Capital after Mizuho Financial Group's ( MFG ) bid stalled, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The private equity firm is assessing Avendus' operations and financials but could still walk away, and KKR may consider other buyers that could include Mizuho, the report said.

CVC Capital Partners declined to comment, while KKR did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
