Ford Motor ( F ) is planning to make further job cuts in Germany, Spain and the UK, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing Benjamin Gruschka, the head of the works council at Ford's Cologne plant.
The number of additional job cuts in Germany is unclear, though a decision is expected by the end of June. Gruschka said, according to Reuters.
The car manufacturer has already reduced its workforce in Germany to 13,000, having halfway completed its previous restructuring plan of 2,300 job cuts in the country, Gruschka was quoted as saying.
Ford Germany did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.
Ford did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
Reuters reported last week that the company plans to eliminate another 1,600 jobs at its assembly plant in Valencia, Spain, in addition to the 1,100 it eliminated last year.
