01:48 PM EDT, 07/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Adds Nvidia declining comment on reported investigation).

Nvidia ( NVDA ) is being investigated by French antitrust regulators who are close to charging the chipmaker with anti-competitive practices, Reuters reported on Monday, citing the president of France's Autorite de la Concurrence.

Agency president Benoit Coeure told the news service on the sidelines of a press briefing that it could soon levy charges against Nvidia ( NVDA ) "if the investigation is fruitful."

In an email message, Nvidia ( NVDA ) declined to comment on the report when contacted by MT Newswires on Monday. The French regulator did not return a message seeking confirmation of Coeure's remarks.
