JetBlue Airways ( JBLU ) is facing pushback from its pilot union on a plan to enter a domestic partnership with United Airlines (UAL), Reuters reported Thursday, citing a union letter.

The pilot union head, Wayne Scales, told members the decision could "fundamentally reshape" the airlines and affect the future of its employees, the report said.

JetBlue ( JBLU ) said in an email to MT Newswires that the company had announced it is engaging with multiple airlines about a new partnership and is making good progress. It expects to sign a partnership agreement in Q2.

A United Airlines spokesperson said in an email to MT Newswires that the company does not comment on industry speculation.
