02:04 PM EDT, 04/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with price disagreement and KKR's options starting in second paragraph.)
KKR (KKR) is shelving a potential sale of Upfield, the maker of Country Crock spreads, that was seeking to bring in $10 billion, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Negotiations to sell Upfield to Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund ADQ fell apart amid price disagreements, prompting the buyout firm to pursue alternatives, the report said.
The options are an initial public offering, which would likely be launched in 2025 at the earliest, and a minority stake sale, Bloomberg reported.
KKR and ADQ didn't respond immediately to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
