Meta Platforms ( META ) apologized Wednesday night for what it called an "error" that led to violent videos appearing on the feeds of a large number of Instagram users, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing a company spokesperson.

"We have fixed an error that caused some users to see content in their Instagram Reels feed that should not have been recommended," a Meta spokesperson told MT Newswires. "We apologize for the mistake."
