Microsoft ( MSFT ) has committed more than $33 billion to neocloud companies such as Nebius ( NBIS ) , CoreWeave ( CRWV ) , Nscale, and Lamabada, to address the artificial intelligence data center capacity shortage, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the situation.
Microsoft's ( MSFT ) agreement with Nebius ( NBIS ), valued at up to $19.4 billion, is expected to provide internal Microsoft ( MSFT ) teams with computing power for building large language models as well as a consumer AI assistant, the report said.
The deal with Nebius ( NBIS ) will also provide Microsoft ( MSFT ) access to more than 100,000 Nvidia ( NVDA ) GB300 chips, the report quoted sources as saying. Shares of Nebius ( NBIS ) closed 8.9% higher on Thursday and were up about 2% in premarket activity on Friday. CoreWeave ( CRWV ) was also about 1% higher pre-bell.
Microsoft ( MSFT ), Nebius ( NBIS ), and Nvidia ( NVDA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
