Mizuho Financial Group ( MFG ) has received a license from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment to establish its regional headquarters in the kingdom's capital, Riyadh, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.

The report said it wasn't immediately clear how many employees would relocate to the kingdom and how much of Mizuho's operations would eventually be centered in the country.

A Mizuho spokesperson confirmed applying for a license, but declined to comment further, according to the report.
