08:53 AM EDT, 07/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Nissan's response in the third paragraph.)

Japan's Nissan Motor has started discussions with Honda Motor ( HMC ) to supply vehicles in the US, Nikkei Asia reported Friday.

The company is mulling using its underutilized US plant to manufacture large models for Honda ( HMC ), according to the report.

A Nissan spokesperson said the company will "continue to work on the projects in collaboration with Honda ( HMC )" but declined further comment. "As a matter of policy, we do not comment on speculation," the spokesperson said.

Honda ( HMC ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
