Update: Market Chatter: Novo Nordisk Cancels New Hire Contracts in Denmark Amid Cost Cuts
Sep 2, 2025 4:29 AM

07:03 AM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Novo Nordisk's ( NVO ) response in the third paragraph)

Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) has canceled employment contracts for some new hires in Denmark as part of cost-cutting measures, Bloomberg reported Friday.

The move follows the company's decision earlier this month to impose a global hiring freeze and reduce some employee bonuses, the report said.

"We have chosen to stop all hirings that are not critically necessary for Novo Nordisk's ( NVO ) operations. This unfortunately also includes a number of new hires in Denmark, where candidates have been offered the job but have not yet started in the position," the company said in an emailed statement to MT Newswires.
