Update: Market Chatter: Novo Nordisk to Require Workers to Return to Office 5 Days a Week
Sep 11, 2025 8:32 AM

11:09 AM EDT, 09/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Novo Nordisk's ( NVO ) response in the fourth paragraph.)

Novo Nordisk's ( NVO ) office-based employees will be required to return to the workplace five days a week, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing earlier reports from Danish newspapers Borsen and Finans.

The new policy is set to begin Jan. 1, according to the report.

The news comes a day after the drugmaker said it will reduce its global workforce by about 9,000, with roughly 5,000 layoffs expected in Denmark.

"We are intending to implement a new global standard for office-based employees to work from the office five days per week," Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) told MT Newswires, adding that managers and employees can still make individual arrangements to balance personal and business needs.
