Update: Market Chatter: Qatar Airways Looking to Remove Boeing 737-10 Model From Order Book
Dec 13, 2024 11:12 AM

01:56 PM EST, 12/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Boeing's ( BA ) response in the fifth paragraph.)

Boeing's ( BA ) 737-10 model no longer meets the fleet requirements of Qatar Airways and the airline is seeking to remove the aircraft from its order book, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

With an order for 25 737-10s, Qatar Airways is mulling switching to 737-8s and would likely hand those planes to partners including Virgin Australia and RwandAir, which are already using the model, the sources said.

The airline may take more 787 planes from Boeing ( BA ) as part of the switch, the people reportedly said.

Qatar Airways told MT Newswires in an email that the airline has "nothing further to add" to what has already been reported.

Boeing ( BA ) said in a statement emailed to MT Newswires that it will defer to Qatar Airways on the matter.
