QXO (QXO) has made an offer to acquire Beacon Roofing Supply ( BECN ) , the Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

A deal could be reached before the new year, the people reportedly said, adding that there is a possibility talks could fall apart. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to the WSJ.

QXO declined to comment to MT Newswires. Beacon did not immediately reply to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
