Sony's ( SONY ) Sony Music Group sent artificial intelligence companies letters warning them to not use its content to train their models without its explicit permission, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing a letter that it obtained.
Sony ( SONY ) reached out to over 700 firms to protect its intellectual property, including album cover art, metadata, musical compositions, and lyrics, the report said.
The company said that the unauthorized use of its content in AI systems' training or commercialization deprives Sony ( SONY ) and its artists of control and compensation for their work, Bloomberg reported.
Sony ( SONY ) and Sony Music did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
