08:15 AM EDT, 07/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates to add PayPal's ( PYPL ) comment in the fourth paragraph.)
Payments firm Stripe and Advent International have offered to acquire PayPal ( PYPL ) for $60.50 per share in a deal that would value the company at more than $53 billion, Reuters reported late Tuesday, citing two unnamed people familiar with the matter.
Under the proposal, Stripe and Advent would jointly own PayPal ( PYPL ), each holding an equal stake. The two firms have not received a response from PayPal ( PYPL ) and are seeking to advance discussions in the coming weeks, the report said.
The offer, submitted earlier this month, is backed by about $50 billion in committed bank financing and represents a roughly 28% premium to PayPal's ( PYPL ) Tuesday closing price, according to the report.
PayPal ( PYPL ) declined to comment, while Stripe and Advent did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
