Tesla (TSLA) is preparing to register its "Full Self-Driving" software with Chinese authorities as part of its planned rollout of the feature this year, Reuters reported, citing three people with knowledge of the matter.
The electric-vehicle maker is also considering selling the software via a monthly subscription equivalent to about $98 to users of its cars in China, Reuters reported, citing the three people.
If the registration is approved, Tesla will be able to test the software by having employees drive on China's public roads before offering it as an upgrade to users in the coming months, two of the people said, according to the report.
