Turkish Airlines is in discussions with Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus to buy 235 aircraft as part of the carrier's expansion plans, Reuters reported Monday, citing Turkish Airlines Chairman Ahmet Bolat.
"We are negotiating with both Airbus and Boeing ( BA ) for the remaining 235 planes," the report quoted Bolat as saying at an Istanbul event held with Airbus and Rolls-Royce.
Turkish Airlines always had a "balanced policy" between Airbus and Boeing ( BA ), the report said, citing Bolat.
Rolls-Royce also said Monday it is mulling establishing maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities in Turkey.
Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus declined MT Newswires' requests for comment on the matter, while Turkish Airlines did not respond.
