United Airlines (UAL) is asking pilots to take unpaid time off in May and potentially other summer months due to a delay in Boeing ( BA ) aircraft deliveries, CNBC reported Monday, citing a note from the pilots' union.

United confirmed the request for voluntary unpaid time off, CNBC said.

Boeing ( BA ) declined to comment on MT Newswires queries while United did not immediately respond.
