Wells Fargo ( WFC ) fired more than a dozen workers last month after probing claims they were simulating keyboard activity to give the impression they were actively working, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing disclosures filed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
The employees in the company's wealth and investment management unit were "discharged after review of allegations involving simulation of keyboard activity creating impression of active work," the news outlet reported, citing the disclosures.
"Wells Fargo ( WFC ) holds employees to the highest standards and does not tolerate unethical behavior," a company spokesperson told Bloomberg.
Wells Fargo ( WFC ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
