Nelson Peltz's Trian Fund Management is building a consortium of investors for a take-private bid for Wendy's (WEN), the Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The consortium, which may include Flynn Group and BlueFive, could submit its bid in the coming weeks, the report said, citing the people.
"The Wendy's Company's would thoroughly review any proposal submitted by Trian consistent with its fiduciary duties," Wendy's told MT Newswires. "The Board, together with the management team, regularly reviews the Company's strategic priorities and opportunities with the goal of maximizing value for all shareholders."
Trian declined to comment to MT Newswires.
