Update: Meta's WhatsApp Says Israel's Paragon Solutions Targeted Users

Meta Platforms' ( META ) WhatsApp users, including journalists and civil society members, have been targeted by Israeli spyware company Paragon Solutions, a spokesperson for the messaging platform told MT Newswires.

"We've reached out directly to people who we believe were affected," WhatsApp's spokesperson told MT Newswires via email. "This is the latest example of why spyware companies must be held accountable for their unlawful actions. WhatsApp will continue to protect peoples' ability to communicate privately."

Idan Nurick, chief executive of Paragon, did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment sent via LinkedIn.
