Microsoft ( MSFT ) has fired two software engineers who protested against the company's sales of AI products to the Israeli military at a company event Friday, news outlets reported Monday.

One Canada-based AI software engineer was fired Monday for "just cause, wilful misconduct, disobedience or wilful neglect of duty," CNBC reported, citing an internal document.

Another software engineer who had vowed to resign April 11 was terminated Monday, CNBC reported.

The employees publicly voiced criticism of Microsoft's ( MSFT ) purported Israeli ties at events marking the software giant's 50th anniversary.
