Microsoft ( MSFT ) will invest $1.70 billion to support artificial intelligence and cloud services in Indonesia over the next four years, the company said Tuesday.

The investment will also support AI skilling opportunities for 840,000 people, and the country's growing developer community, the company added.

These initiatives align with the Indonesian government's Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision and build on Microsoft's ( MSFT ) Empower Indonesia initiative announced in February 2021, including plans to establish the company's first data center region.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) also said it commits to providing AI skilling opportunities for 2.5 million people in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations member states by 2025.
