Update: Microsoft's Activision Owes Acceleration Bay $23.4 Million for Patent Infringement
May 6, 2024 11:36 AM

02:20 PM EDT, 05/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with additional details in the third paragraph, attempts for comment in the last paragraph.)

Microsoft's ( MSFT ) Activision must pay Acceleration Bay $23.4 million after a federal jury in Delaware found that it infringed claim 12 of US Patent No. 6,701,344 for which it owes $18 million and claim 1 of US Patent No. 6,731.147 for which it owes $5.4 million.

Activision is also found to be liable to the plaintiff for prejudgment interest in an amount to be calculated, according to the final judgment.

The final judgment by the US District Court for the District of Delaware calls on the parties to submit letter briefs covering interest owed by Activision to Acceleration Bay and the amount of costs owed.

Neither Activision nor Acceleration Bay immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
