Oct 29, 2025 11:12 AM

01:59 PM EDT, 10/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with details on outage recovery in the headline, and the fourth and fifth paragraphs.)

Microsoft's ( MSFT ) cloud computing service Azure experienced an outage on Wednesday, with customers reporting issues accessing the Azure Portal.

On its Azure status webpage, Microsoft ( MSFT ) cited Domain Name System issues that disrupted availability across several services.

"We have failed the portal away from Azure Front Door to attempt to mitigate the portal access issues," Microsoft ( MSFT ) said.

The company said in a Wednesday post on social media platform X that some users are facing trouble accessing Microsoft ( MSFT ) 365 services and the Microsoft ( MSFT ) 365 admin center.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) said in a follow-up X post that it has identified a modification to a part of the Azure infrastructure likely causing the impact. "We're pursuing multiple remediation strategies, including moving traffic away from the impacted infrastructure and blocking the offending change," according to the company.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
