Update: Mission Produce Shares Jump on Fiscal Q1 Surprise

Mission Produce ( AVO ) shares rose 9% in recent Tuesday trading following the company's unexpected fiscal Q1 swing to earnings and revenue increase.

Late Monday, the company reported fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings of $0.09 per diluted share, compared with a loss of $0.07 a year earlier. Two analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected a loss of $0.07.

Sales for the quarter ended Jan. 31 were $258.7 million, up from $213.5 million a year earlier. Two analysts surveyed by Capital IQ forecast $210.8 million.
