Nvidia ( NVDA ) and Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) have agreed to give 15% of revenue from the sale of their advanced AI chips in China to the US government as part of a deal to get US export licenses, multiple media outlets reported Sunday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.
The deal includes the sale of Nvidia's ( NVDA ) H20 and AMD's MI308 chips, the reports said.
According to the Financial Times, it remains unclear when or how the revenue-sharing deal will take effect, and the US government has not yet decided how the funds will be utilized.
"We follow rules the US government sets for our participation in worldwide markets," Nvidia ( NVDA ) spokeperson said. "While we haven't shipped H20 to China for months, we hope export control rules will let America compete in China and worldwide."
AMD did not immediately replied to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
