11:39 AM EDT, 06/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Orezone Gold ( ORZCF ) on Wednesday provided the latest drill results from the Bombore gold mine in Burkina Faso.

Results include 113.74 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold over 8.00 meters, 1.43 g/t gold over 38.00 meters and 1.22 g/t gold over 27.00 meters.

Orezone said the results were from its ongoing infill and advanced grade control program, which is designed to further delineate multiple high-grade structures within the Siga East and Siga South zones.

"These drill results are very encouraging, both in terms of ongoing exploration and the planned shift in mining to increasingly focus on higher-grade, free-digging oxides within the southern portion of the property," chief executive Patrick Downey said in a release.

The company's shares were last seen up $0.02 to $0.71 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
