Update: Quanex Shares Fall Pre-Ball After Fiscal Q3 Profit Misses Expectations, Fiscal 2025 Guidance Cut

Quanex Building Products ( NX ) shares were down over 23% in recent premarket activity Friday after the company reported fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings that fell short of expectations and cut its fiscal 2025 net sales outlook.

The company reported fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings late Thursday of $0.69 per diluted share, down from $0.81 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.84.

Net sales for the quarter ended July 31 were $495.3 million, up from $280.3 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $491.7 million.

Quanex said it now expects fiscal 2025 net sales of about $1.82 billion. Its previous guidance was $1.84 billion to $1.86 billion.

Analysts polled by FactSet expect $1.85 billion.
