05:32 AM EDT, 04/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Sanofi's ( SNY ) comment in the third and fourth paragraph.)

Sanofi ( SNY ) , a pharmaceutical company based in France, plans to restructure its vaccines' commercial operations in the US.

An undisclosed number of jobs will likely be lost in the process, a report from ENDPOINT NEWS said Thursday.

As the U.S. vaccine market continues to evolve, Sanofi ( SNY ) is making changes to its commercial organization to optimally support "our customers and patients," a Sanofi ( SNY ) spokesperson wrote in an e-mailed response to MTNewswires. To this end, "we are implementing a streamlined strategic sales structure."

"As with any change in our organization, we are providing multiple avenues of support to impacted employees, including both financial support, and outplacement assistance, as well as the opportunities to apply for the new positions," the spokesperson wrote in the e-mail.
