Sprott (SII.TO), a global asset manager focused on precious metals and critical materials investments, on Wednesday reported flat net income for the second quarter.
Sprott posted net income of US$13.5 million, or US$0.52 per share, compared with US$13.4 million, or US$0.53 per share. Analysts polled by FactSet forecast earnings at US$0.55 per share.
Revenue was US$65.2 million, beating the analyst consensus estimate of US$47.0 million compiled by FactSet.
"During the quarter we benefited from market value appreciation across our product suite, driven by rising precious metals and uranium prices and strong performance in our managed equities segment," CEO Whitney George said. "We also reported US$1.2 billion in net sales during the quarter, concentrated largely in our physical trusts."
Sprott shares were last seen down $6.98 to $87.64 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
