Update: TC Energy Up Near 4% as Commences Collection of Tolls on Southeast Gateway Pipeline in Mexico
Jun 27, 2025 9:07 AM

11:49 AM EDT, 06/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates shares.)

TC Energy ( TRP ) said on Friday it is now collecting tolls from the Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) for the Southeast Gateway pipeline in Mexico.

TC said it has been paid by the CFE for the month of May, on time in accordance with their contract.

The company said it continues to work with the newly constituted Comision Nacional de Energia (CNE) to obtain approval of its regulated rates as soon as possible, which is required to provide service to potential future interruptible service users on Southeast Gateway other than the CFE.

The Southeast Gateway pipeline is a 715-kilometer natural gas pipeline and the first significant energy infrastructure project constructed under TC Energy's ( TRP ) public-private partnership with the CFE.

The project was completed at a final cost of US$3.9 billion, 13% below the original estimate.

"The successful completion of the Southeast Gateway pipeline reflects the unwavering commitment of our team, the CFE and the Ministry of Energy to support Mexico's expanding energy demand and future economic development," said chief executive Francois Poirier.

TC Energy ( TRP ) said the Southeast Gateway pipeline and its other assets in Mexico are positioned to play a vital role in Mexico's plans to develop about 8.5 GW of newly installed capacity from natural gas power plants.

TC Energy ( TRP ) shares were last seen up $2.74 to $67.88 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Price: 67.88, Change: +2.47, Percent Change: +3.78
