Tesla (TSLA) new car registrations fell 45.2% year over year to 9,945 in January in the European Union, European Free Trade Association, and UK, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association said Tuesday.

In just the EU, Tesla's January new car registrations fell 50.3% from the year prior to 7,517.

Tesla's shares were down more than 5% in recent trading.
