Tesla (TSLA), Stellantis ( STLA ) , Volkswagen, and BYD are under investigation by Italy's antitrust agency for misleading buyers on battery capabilities of their electric vehicles, the Italian Competition Authority said Friday.

Inspections were conducted at the Italian offices of all the automakers Thursday, with support from Italy's financial crimes police, the regulator said.

Tesla, Stellantis ( STLA ), Volkswagen, and BYD did not respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
