Troilus Gold ( CHXMF ) said Wednesday it appointed Rob Doyle as strategic advisor to the CEO and chairman, effective Aug. 1.

Doyle will provide strategic, financial and operational guidance as the Troilus copper-gold project in Quebec advances toward construction and production.

Doyle most recently served as chief financial officer for SilverCrest Metals, which was acquired by Coeur Mining in a $1.7 billion transaction earlier this year. He also served as CFO of Pan American Silver ( PAAS ) .

Troilus shares were last seen up $0.02 to $0.68 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
