The UK's Competition and Markets Authority said Friday that it has approved Boeing's ( BA ) planned acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) .

While the British regulator didn't provide detailed reasoning in its initial announcement, it said a full decision will be published soon.

"Progress continues toward completion of the Boeing ( BA ) acquisition, which is expected to close in Q4," Spirit spokesperson Joe Buccino told MT Newswires.

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
