01:49 PM EDT, 08/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with United comment in the third paragraph.)
United Airlines' (UAL) flight attendants voted to authorize a strike should management fail to agree to significant improvements, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA said Wednesday.
United flight attendants are seeking a double-digit base pay increase, pay for time at work on the ground, retroactive pay, schedule flexibility and work rule improvements, job security and retirement, the labor union said.
"We continue to work toward an industry-leading agreement for our flight attendants, including negotiations this week and every month through November," United said in an emailed statement to MT Newswires. "Both sides have been actively engaged in these negotiations facilitated by the federal mediator requested by the union."
United shares fell 2.6% in recent trading Wednesday.
