Update: US Aviation Regulator to Conduct 3-Month Review of Boeing's Safety Processes
Oct 18, 2024 11:55 AM

02:40 PM EDT, 10/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Boeing's ( BA ) comments in the last paragraph.)

The US Federal Aviation Administration said Friday a new review of Boeing's ( BA ) safety processes will take three months.

The FAA will undertake a comprehensive review of Boeing's ( BA ) continued operational safety processes to ensure they comply with FAA requirements and provide timely, accurate safety-related information for FAA use.

This review is part of the FAA's "aggressive oversight" to ensure Boeing ( BA ) has the necessary tools to implement lasting improvements in its safety culture.

The evaluation will focus on critical aspects of Boeing's ( BA ) safety protocols, including response times, quality of risk assessments, resource allocation, and adherence to regulatory standards and FAA policies, the agency said.

"We continue to cooperate fully and transparently with the FAA," a Boeing ( BA ) spokesperson told MT Newswires. "We support all actions that strengthen safety in aviation."
