Walt Disney ( DIS ) has cut approximately 75 staff members across ABC News and its eight ABC-owned local stations, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday, citing a memo to the staff.

The layoffs are evenly divided between employees from ABC News and local stations, according to the reports.

These job cuts will not affect specific teams or disrupt national or local programming, the reports added.

"We continually evaluate ways to invest in our businesses and more effectively manage our resources and costs to fuel the state-of-the-art creativity and innovation that audiences value and expect from Disney Entertainment Television," a Disney ( DIS ) spokesperson said in an emailed response to MT Newswires. "As part of this ongoing optimization work, we have been reviewing operational costs across our businesses, including ABC News and the eight ABC Owned Television Stations (OTV), and have determined there are ways for them to operate more efficiently."
