Alphabet's (GOOG) YouTube ( GOOG ) suffered a mass outage in Russia on Thursday amid increasing criticism of the platform by Russian authorities, according to multiple media reports.

Russian internet monitoring website Sboi.rf said there had been thousands of glitches reported about YouTube ( GOOG ) service in Russia, Reuters reported.

"We are aware of reports of some people not being able to access YouTube ( GOOG ) in Russia," a YouTube ( GOOG ) spokesperson told MT Newswires via email. "That is not a result of any technical issues on our side or action taken by us."
