08:24 AM EDT, 08/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Shares of Uranium Energy ( UEC ) , Cameco ( CCJ ) , and NexGen Energy ( NXE ) were higher in premarket activity Monday after rival Kazatomprom slashed its production target for 2025 over delays and sulphuric acid shortages.
Uranium Energy's ( UEC ) stock rose 2.4%, while both Cameco ( CCJ ) and NexGen Energy ( NXE ) advanced 1.4%.
Kazatomprom, the world's largest uranium producer, said Friday it is cutting its 2025 production target to a range of 25,000 tons to 26,500 tons from a previous estimate of 30,500 tons to 31,500 tons.
