The ambitious Mumbai coastal road is a proposed 29.2-km freeway that will connect south Mumbai to the western and coastal suburb.

As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) plans, it will start from Princess Street Flyover, Marine Lines to Kandivli. It will have eight lanes, with two dedicated bus lanes.

To discuss the project, CNBC-TV18 spoke with Hafeez Contractor, India’s prominent architect; Rahul Kadri, principal & partner at IM Kadri Architects; Kalhan Mattoo, urban planner and Shweta Wagh, architect and urban conservationist.
