US approves $1.57 billion sale of helicopters, torpedoes to New Zealand

June 5 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department on Friday

said it approved two potential foreign military sales to New

Zealand worth a combined $1.57 billion.

The sales include five Lockheed Martin MH-60R Multi-Mission

Helicopters and related equipment valued at $1.5 billion, and 20

MK 54 MOD 0 Lightweight Torpedoes valued at $69 million, the

department said.

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is the

principal contractor on the helicopter package.
