US Aviation Regulator Adopts New Airworthiness Directive for Boeing 787 Models
Aug 19, 2024 7:12 AM

09:53 AM EDT, 08/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US Federal Aviation Administration is adopting a new airworthiness directive for Boeing ( BA ) 787-8, 787-9, and 787-10 airplanes, the US Department of Transportation said Monday.

The directive was prompted by heat damage reported on multiple engine inlets around the engine anti-ice duct in the inlet aft compartment, the agency said.

The directive requires operators to check records, update their existing minimum equipment list, inspect engine inlet cowl assemblies for any heat damage signs, install or replace EAI duct seals, repair damage, and replace inlets if necessary.

The directive also "prohibits the installation of engine inlets under certain conditions."

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
