US Conducting New Security Investigations Into Imports of Medical Equipment, Consumables, Devices
Sep 25, 2025 4:08 AM

06:39 AM EDT, 09/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The US Department of Commerce said Wednesday it is conducting a new investigation into whether imports of personal protective equipment, as well as medical consumables and equipment pose risks to national security.

The probe aims to seek information from companies on the current and projected demand for personal protective equipment, medical consumables and medical equipment, including various devices, as well as the extent to which domestic production of these products can meet local demand.

It will also seek information about the impact of "foreign government subsidies and predatory trade practices" on the competitiveness of such equipment, according to a notice.
