The Federal District Court in California has struck down two new immigration rules - a move which could be a boost for the Indian IT industry.
One of the rules which was introduced in October resulted in higher minimum wages for foreign professional workers including H1B. However, now that the law has been struck down, it could bring down wage costs.
The second ruling was to impose stricter eligibility criteria for specialty occupation. However, this rule was supposed to be effective from December 7. But now that the rule has been struck down, there will be ease of doing business.
However, it is important to note that agencies can take administrative steps to reissue regulations in the remaining weeks of the Trump administration.
