US Gulf of Mexico oil and gas auction ends with $46.98 mln in high bids

March 11 (Reuters) - A sale of drilling rights in the

Gulf of Mexico ended with $46.98 million in high bids from oil

and gas companies, officials with the U.S. Bureau of Ocean

Energy Management said on Wednesday.

Winning bidders included BP, Chevron ( CVX ), Shell

and Anadarko. The bids were read via livestream on

BOEM's website.
