US State Dept approves potential sale of F-16 jets to Philippines

April 1 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department has

approved the potential sale of F-16 aircraft to the Philippines

for an estimated cost of $5.58 billion, the Pentagon said on

Tuesday.

The principal contractor for the sale will be Lockheed

Martin ( LMT ), the Pentagon said in a statement.
